This year, the Youth Development and Social, Arts, and Culture Program are partnering together to raise $5,000 to help fund our youth services and programs. Including field trips, guest speakers, summer events, and tuition-free Filipino folk dance classes through the Kalahi Cultural Dance Ensemble.

The Filipino Community of Seattle (FCS) invites you to SWING INTO SPRING, our dance social and fundraiser event on Friday, March 22, 6:00pm-10:00pm. Learn to swing dance, meet new friends, and help raise funds for youth services and programs in South Seattle!

EVENT SCHEDULE:

  • 6:00pm-6:30pm -- Check-in & Registration
  • 6:00pm-9:00pm -- Youth Activities on 2nd Floor
  • 6:30pm-7:30pm -- Swing and Ballroom Group Lesson
  • 7:30pm-10:00pm -- Open Swing Dance Social

During the first hour, attendees will learn swing and ballroom dance basics from professional ballroom dancer Alex Olivares. The rest of the evening is for people to have fun and continue dancing. Food and refreshments are available for purchase.

Bring a friend, a date, or your spouse! Dress to impress and wear comfortable dancing shoes. No experience required. Parking available and close to public transportation.

TICKET OPTIONS:

  • $15.00 - Student & Seniors
  • $25.00 - General
  • $45.00 - Admission For Two (a pair of tickets for friends or couples)
  • $85.00 - Family Pack (2 couples/parents and up to 4 kids)*
  • $160.00 - VIP Table for 8 (includes swag bags and other perks!)

*Includes youth activities for couples or parents with children (ages 5 and up).

Proceeds go towards funding youth services and programs for families and communities of color in South Seattle. Including field trips, guest speakers, summer events, and tuition-free Filipino folk dance classes through the FCS Kalahi Cultural Dance Ensemble.
