The Filipino Community of Seattle (FCS) collaborated with the Department of Health on a project aimed at educating the community about health and wellness. This 7-month project involved monthly health awareness presentations at the Filipino Community Center and community outreach activities. The topics covered ranged from promoting healthy eating habits and encouraging vaccination to providing healthcare options for uninsured or underinsured individuals and addressing chronic illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and mental health. FCS also hosted two health fairs at the community center, which were made possible through the collaboration of several organizations. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the following organizations for their invaluable support: Washington State Pharmacy Association, Vietnamese Health Board, Harborview Medical Center EthnoMed, and Community Health Plan of Washington.
