Senior Services Annual Report 2022

General Program Updates

Seniors were provided COVID-19 Test kits and PPE: hand sanitizers, disposable masks, and sanitizing wipes.


During April and May, seniors received SDOT-RIDE NOW tickets.


Insurance Training

Cynthia Aranca held an annual meeting with the seniors regarding their enrollment in Medicare,

UnitedHealthcare, and Aetna.


Mr. Juan Garcia from CMS Health insurance/outreach Specialist Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services explained to seniors regarding the social security, medicaid and medicare.


Senior Lunch Program

  • Congregate meals served: 6,874

  • Food Bank distributions: 4,942

As of November 30, 2022


Lolita Lawson, Emma Catague, and Nelia Diaz delivered food bank items to community members that could not get to the Filipino Community Center.


Senior Lunch Program serves congregate meals 3 days per week: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Food Bank is open 2 days per week: Tuesdays for perishable food and Thursdays for dry food.


GBV Education and Awareness Training

While seniors are eating their lunches, Susan Bagby, Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Small Business Resiliency Network (SBRN) Outreach, provided a GBV training on domestic violence, sexual harassment, and human trafficking.


Senior HUB

Monthly Birthday Party

Every month we celebrate our senior's birthdays. Each celebrant receives a cupcake with a candle to blow out, a rose, and a gift bag. A separate cake is provided for the rest of the senior lunch attendees.


Wellness + Wellbeing

Each week, we call our senior members to check on their mental health, ask who is helping them in their house and if they need additional help, and discuss what the effects of COVID-19 can do to their health, nutrition or diet.


Senior Virtual Village

COVID-19 Booster + Vaccination Clinics

We hosted 4 clinics throughout the year with a total of 136 persons received their shots.
